RE: [boxer lovers] Eating problem with my Boxer

Two things. First, look into Raw Food. Seriously, do some research. Don't
take my word for it though I will tell you I feed raw and my dogs are
incredibly healthy. I had a Boxer who was seriously ill as a pup and
developed SEVER hip dysplasia. When I switched her to raw, she improved
dramatically. She was still ill and the disease did continue to progress,
it cannot be halted, but, it slowed and she was in less discomfort.

Having said that, don't depend on what ANY dog food tells you as far as
amounts are concerned. Let your dog tell you. You can see how she is doing.
She is 7 months so she will be lanky and look kind of spindly. That's
normal. I would suggest that you take a look at some pictures of boxers at
approximately the same age, as she grows, as compare their looks to hers.
Also, watch for her activity levels. Seriously, if she has more energy than
you think you can handle, I would hazard a guess she is doing well.

Keep and eye on how she looks and how she acts. Throughout her life, that is
the very best gauge of her health. Like yourself and your kidlets, you are
the best judge of her health. You will learn, quickly, what is normal for
her rather than what every says she SHOULD be. Don't try to fit her into a
cookie cutter.

Now, if she seems like she is not thriving, you should be able to see it.
Too much bone and not enough padding, low energy levels (If she is only
going through one sofa a week, I would worry >snark<) Don't hesitate to ask
your vet. He or she will tell you if her overall health is good.

If you do decide to go raw, remember, there are many vets who will SERIOUSLY
argue with you about it. remember, all of their nutrition education is
still, not much, and it is sponsored by dog food companies. Plus, vets
typically sell dog food, often high priced 'Gourmet' or 'Specialized' or
'Superior Quality'. A lot of the office income has to do with ancillary
sales.

Meanwhile, remember, *I* am NOT a vet, *I* have NEVER seen nor handled your
dog. Please remember that advice gathered online, especially on chat forums,
CANNOT replace actual vet care. So, when in REAL doubt, ask the REAL
expert! I and others are more than happy to offer advice, but remember, we
don't know you, your dog or your vet up close or personal.

Good luck and keep us up to date.

Subject: [boxer lovers] Eating problem with my Boxer

Hi , I have 7 months old female Boxer 'Elsa'. Elsa is very helthy and
active. first six months she was on RC but then we shifted her to Hills (
lamb and rice . According to her age and activities she supposed to take at
least 400gms of her food. But my observation is like from last 1 month she
is not eating the full 400gms , in a day currently she is just eating around
max of 300gms. I am feeding her twice a day.
Please help me to analysis the situation and provide some tips so that to
increase her diet.
