I just joined your list and am hoping I may be able to find some assistance. My husband and I have several dogs of our own, Portuguese Water Dogs, and Spinone but do foster a small dog here and there. We have taken in two dachshunds approx 2 months ago, so they did not go to the dog shelter.
Sally is a smooth mini and Spencer is a long coat mini, 3 and a half and four years old. Temperments are great..Sally very lively and Spencer more quiet. I have contacted a Dachshund rescue in NY that said they would be happy to help place them. I have sent pics and info on them but have not heard anything back after several attempts.
Does anyone know of a rescue that may be able to help find these wonderful dachsie's a home.
I live in an area where I am not confident they will find a forever home so have only used word of mouth to try to place them. I thought I had a perfect home lined up but they changed their minds the night before I was supposed to bring them for a meet and greet.
We live in Owego NY.
I feel bad due to them not getting the individual attention they are used to and deserve. They lived with a couple that had a nasty divorce. I tried to find out who the breeder was but with no success.
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
