Besides the good advice from Ken, Do not let her be on the furniture as it will just encourage jumping up on it and down off it. That can/will cause Doxies to get back problems, that sometimes can not be fixed so they have a too early death. Doxies are prone to back problems.

I have always been in love with dachshunds. All my pets have been dachsies from Mr.Bowman, Heinzie, Einstein, Jazmine and willow. It was so difficult when they passed away. It's been 2 years and I thought I couldn't take another dachsie. But now I bought Kisses and I hope she lives a long long long time. Any tips to prolong your female dachsie' s life.
