My boxers do it all the time. Every boxer I have ever owned did it. I am
sure at some point I read the reasoning behind it but I cannot recall at the
moment. Just know, your dog is not mental (well, who knows, it could be) but
is not mental because of this<G> it is pretty common in Boxers.

Subject: [boxer lovers] Curious question
Hello! Our Heidi is a 19 month old spayed lady who has earned her CGC and
is working on her TDI certification as well.
Today, we were working in the garage and my soon-to-be step-son hid around a
corner to play with Heidi. She went immediately into defensive mode - that
intimidating bark/growl, all the hair on her back standing on end. That
position I am sure you all know. While holding her position, she then
kicked her rear feet out behind her (somewhat similar to the maneuver we see
often when dogs "cover their poo").
She stayed in that stance and kicked her rear feet a couple of times until
she realized it was him. Then she did the wobble-butt and folder herself in
half, dropped down her two front legs and tried to entice him to chase her.
This behavior, her rear legs kicking out, almost made me think of a bull
warning to charge (but wrong legs). This is not a behavior I have ever seen
in her or any dog. After more then 10 years in rescue, it has me wondering
if this is a normal behavior in Boxers I haven't seen before and does anyone
know what it might mean.
I apologize for the length of this but it's kinda hard to explain in any
shorter details.
So, any input is more than welcome
Thanks everyone!
