Re: I'm new!

IVDD is intervertebral disc disease, which is premature aging of the discs.  Some feel it is hereditary and good breeders should never breed a dog with a history of IVDD in their lineage.  The discs in the back can bulge or rupture.

Welcome Angie!!  I am Cheryl from Cinti, Ohio...and I have two "tweenies", Zoe and Winston who are half brother and sister....plus an Aussie Shepherd mix and four cats....unfortunately Zoe and Winston both have been diagnosed with IVDD....but conservative treatment as well as surgery does work!!!  Glad to have you aboard!!

Hello. I'm Angie from Reynoldsburg, Ohio and I've had three weenies. Casey, female, standard black and tan short haired, had to put her to sleep in 2010, she was 16. Bailey, male, red dapple, 7, standard short haired, and our rescue, Blue, male, 6, short haired blue tick standard. I just love my weenies... I couldn't imagine life without them.
