RE: [boxer lovers] Question about feeding a puppy milk

The best bottle I have found over the years ois Dr Brown's baby bottle. You can find them at walmart baby section. Air escapes through a tube running up inside the bottle. Nipples are very soft. so much like mamma boxer. They even come in premie size.

They make an actual puppy bottle -- you should be able to get it from

any of the big box pet stores and even possibly a local farm supply

store (like Tractor Supply). The nipple should be small enough to make

it easier for her.

Ok. going to sound cruel -- how is the mother treating this puppy? Some

just don't thrive, period. And a lot of times the dam will tend to

ignore or even push those away. The bitches just KNOW the ones not

destined to make it. Sometimes it's nothing we can see ... something

internally that means they can't handle the food properly. I mention

this because if she's nursing and not swallowing ... there may be a

problem with her swallowing.

Are you feeding straight goat's milk? That may not be what sufficient

for the pup. There are recipes online for "homemade" puppy milk substitute.
