Re: [boxer lovers] Boxer Hair Loss! - Help/Suggestions?

A corn allergy is more common than you'd think.  My beagle boy has struggled with what we thought was a super intense reaction to fleas (also very common).  My vet thought that perhaps even though he is on monthly flea/heartworm meds, some dogs have a reaction if a flea jumps on and then off immediately.  But, with it being winter (albeit a very mild one here in Ohio), he started getting very uncomfortable.  I gave him a bath and didn't find a single one on him.  So, my trainer (for Heidi's obedience) and I were talking and she described, to a tee, what Tiny looks like.  His skin is reddened and uncomfortable from anal region to mid chest and also under his arm pits.  I started him on a new food (properly weaning to it, of course) and already I see improvement in him.  He is also on steroids for the discomfort so the real test will be in a few weeks when the steroids are gone and he is only on the new food.  However, I believe that has been his
problem all along.  It may be worth trying a food switch to test.

Hi,

My white rescue boy named Sonny Liston used to shed unbelievably..... I

used fish oil capsules and would brush him with a wet hair brush weekly and

that worked quite well. I'd like to hear more about it and what other

suggestions or answers you've received.
