RE: [boxer lovers] Bloat

this is very interesting. we lost a boxer to bloat when she was 14mth old. it was awful. and in the end she had to be put down. feeding bones is also something that you just never did. I was also told by our vet that we should be careful if we get another American boxer because they are acceptable to bloat. I was confused because i didn't know there was a difference in the breed. but the vet said that the American boxer's have a very narrow chest and that there body was changed in ways that made them have more spine and stomach issues then the European version of the boxer. Well we looked and have 3 European boxers and love them because they are so different in looks, to the feeding issue. we do feed corn/grain free food. due to allergies to both.

I have never fed raw and honestly am not comfortable with the idea. I was shocked to see the recommendation to feed poultry bones. It has been pounded into my head to NEVER feed poultry bones as they splinter. Does someone want to explain what I apparently don't understand? I am not opposed to learning!

Thanks!
