It's the cooked bones that splinter. Cooking changes the consistency of
any bone. Next time you are cutting up a chicken, but out a leg bone,
uncooked. Then cook a leg with the bone in it. Then play with them and
you'll see the difference. So, tossing a dog a leg joint from a chicken
is okay, as long as it isn't cooked. And as long as they aren't as
allergic to Chicken and Poultry as my Meghan is
