Do you have a pic of her, what you're describing sounds like a dapple.

Dachshunds are like potato chips, you can't have just one.

I’m new to the Doxie world. I’ve had my smooth tweenie, Penny for about 9 months. I think she’s either a light black and tan or a dark chocolate color. She’s beautiful- whatever it is.
I’ve heard the expression Piebald but I’m not sure what it means or why it is controversial? Is that the color?
Has anyone known of Doxies in agility? I have my large Yorkie in agility classes and he LOVES it. But I’m afraid of the jumping (and landing) for a Dachshund.

I am so glad to have found this group.. I live for my baby boy (Doxie) I tell him everyday there ain't nuttin' better... he agrees with a wag!! We walk most everyday unless it's snowing and blowing or raining.. then it's a couch/blankie day no matter how hard I coax him.... Living in Pennsylvania you might guess today is one of those days.. he turned 2 last week but even at that young age seems to run this place.. It is fine with me but we get comments about him being spoiled or some say he owns me and I am here to say that is all very true but so what!! I should tell you right up front he is a piebald.. I know some may frown on that but that is exactly why he was chosen.. I grew up raising and showing english bulldogs and basenjis and it was show quaility this and that...I picked my little guy out when he was 2 weeks old and it was one long wait before he could get old enough to come home the breeded kept asking me the entire time "are you sure thats the one you want" with a funny look on her face... "will he grown to smell like a stinky hound dog?, if so YES!! so with all that said now I will upload a pic of Hunter (who only ever hunts food and a warm blanket) Kerri
