Hello!

I've been a member for a long time, but don't post...I look at the pictures of everyone's doxies as I LOVE doxies!! In fact, thats all I've ever owned since I was a little girl. I just posted several pictures of my baby girl, Peanut. Peanut died 6/17/2011. I had to put her to sleep due to a severe flare of Pancreatitis. She had it from the time she was a little girl, but we didn't know thats what it was until about six years ago when they finally ran blood work. We always thought it was a very sensitive belly as it only lasted a day or two at the most. One day, the Vet decided to check her enzymes and lo and behold, the levels were very high. Even so, each attack over the last six years, would only last a couple of days. Well, last year, her temp was about 104 and she was critically sick. We tried giving her aspirin as per the Vet, but she wouldn't have any part of it. We were doing the IV fluids, the meds for pain and nausea at home (IV Pain and sub q nausea meds), however, she wouldn't take the meds for nausea as they burned. The pain meds we had to do IV as she was afraid those would burn I believe. It was to the point, she actually would extend her paw out to me when I came over to her with the needle as if to say, "Robin, will you please give me my medicine?" The day the vet took her out of her pain, was the worst day of my life and will always be. I am typing this with tears coming down my cheeks. I know I did the right thing for her. I know I did everything I could for her. I know the pain of pancreatitis as I had it for 9 1/2 years. I had my pancreas removed, but we couldn't do that for her. I would have done it for her if that was possible!!!

I hope you all enjoy her pictures as much as I do. Thank you all for reading this far, and thank you all for sharing the pictures of your babies. They are all beautiful!!

xoxo
Robin
