The Secretary Bird - One Tall Raptor

The secretary bird is in many ways Africa's version of the roadrunner. Like roadrunners, secretary birds have a fondness for dry, open habitats such as deserts, grasslands and scrublands. They also have a knack for running around on the ground catching their prey by stunning and stomping on it.

Birds of prey (Falconiformes) also known as raptors, are formidable avian predators, armed with powerful talons, hooked bills and acute eyesight. Raptors generally have broad wings well-suited for soaring. Raptors hunt by day and feed on a variety of prey including fish, small mammals, reptiles and carrion.

Komodo Dragon
