No I'm sorry we do not have any foster homes that are not stuffed to the gills from dogs that we have pulled from shelters or people have dumped. If he's that friendly pray he gets a home soon.
Hello,
My name is Jennifer, my husband and I live in Athens, AL. We recently lost our much loved 14 year old dachshund to congestive heart failure 8 weeks ago and are considering adoption. We saw a dachshund listed on petfinder.com that's in the Gallatin, TN animal control. We drove up there yesterday to see him. He is the most well socialized doxie we have ever seen. We took him outside on a leash. They were having a micro chip event with a lot of people attending. Lucky's tail did not quit wagging, he welcomed attention and was thrilled to see all all adults, children and animals that came up to him. He never barked. Children ran up and grabbed him and his tail wagged with delight. He is neutered and is current on his shots. He weights 12 pounds but needs to gain some. He is red short haired with brown eyes. We were told that they euthonize 70% of the animals. He needs to be removed. He has been there about 20 days and really needs to be in a safe home. You can see him at petfinder.com in Gallatin, TN - animal #3829. It says he's a senior but really only 4 years old. He was picked up as a stray. We dont hnow how much longer they will keep him. We decided its too soon after losing Pumpkin to adopt again. Are there any foster homes in the area that could take him? Bill and I would be willing to pay the $130 for AADR to get him out. Please let me know what can be done.
Thanks so much,
A dachshund lover,
Bill & Jennifer Sutherland
