RE: [boxer lovers] Deaf Boxer Puppy

Hi Robbye

I have had a deaf dog, and there are also several very helpful websites out
there. Main thing is to teach the dog sign language - and get them to keep
checking you out for more signals. I used to flap my hands when the dog
was looking away, and reward when he looked at me. The other thing is to
figure out something which suits you to have the dog come to you at night
.. I used a torch, and when I shone the torch on him he would come to me.

And the most important thing is never ever let him be anywhere which is not
fenced or off lead.

People didn't believe mine couldn't hear, but he was deaf as a post.

If you don't have any luck with those sites, let me know and I will try to
find a couple for you.

The BAER test should give you results on his hearing.

Kind regards

Jane Logan
