Her name is Ruby, she was born Febuary 22nd of 2005, she is AKC registered, she is spayed, due for this years shots, and a possible a teeth cleaning. I can probably afford to take care of this years shots but the teeth cleaning is out of my budget at the moment.

Thanks, -Liz

Do you take rescue dogs with disabilities? My Dachshund, is about 7 years old and last September she pinched a nerve in her back. Her hind legs were compleatly disabled but now she is back to what I would say is 90% normal. We chose chiropractic adjustments and kennel rest as treatment. She can get around just fine but she is somewhat incontinent now and her back end wobbles a bit. When she barks (witch she does a lot more now) she sometimes poops and when she's exited she pittles.

The bad:
- incontinent
- insecure because of her condition so she barks and growls a things a lot more.
- does not take food nicely
- can not be trusted around people food as she guards the person she is begging from.
- will over eat if food is left out all the time.

The good:
- very affectionate
- healthy other than her disabilities
- bonds closely to her person.
- good in the car
- is at a healthy weight for her condition.
- good with most other dogs
- is tolerant of respectful children
- needs to be with someone who's home all the time and who can keep her on a potty schedule.

Due to her condition I don't feel that she is getting the attention a dog like her needs. I am away from home for 9 to 11  hours a day. And I only have a few options: continue to deal with things as I have, try to find a better home, or put her to sleep because of all her issues (this thought is horrifying for me).
