From: Murphy, Debra [mailto:Debra.Murphy@medicaid.alabama.gov] Sent: Monday, August 29, 2011 10:03 AM Subject: FW: JC, chestnut red PB doxie needs help in Montgomery, AL Kim is a very good friend of mine here in town. She offered to take this precious little boy from his "family" so they wouldn't give him to the vet to be euth'd! He just needs a few weeks of recoup time, according to their vet, to let his back end heal. Has the meds, has had his shots, is fabulous with kids and simply needs a chance at a home! Kim was told the Doxie is a PB, and he is simply beautiful and so sweet! PLEASE HELP US FIND HIM SOMEWHERE TO GO TO RECOUP AND LIVE!!!!!!!!!! Debra in Montgomery From: Kimberly Burkhart [mailto:maki_the_brat@yahoo.com] Sent: Sunday, August 28, 2011 4:19 PM Subject: JC JC short for John Cena. He is a (about) 6-7 year old Dachshund (Doxie), and he is great with kids (young and older), as he lived with kids 12 years-21months, and he is currently around my 14-month old, and already crate-trained. I do not know very much about this dog, as I just offered to foster him a couple of days ago and try to find him a home, and picked him up today. (The family now has 4 kids, is too busy to help him recuperate, and the father just said to take him to the vet to be euth'd!!! I was told he is a PB Doxie.) He is unable to use his back end and drags it walking or running to play (he does have medicine for it), but he does not appear to be in any pain. The owner did not tell me what was wrong with his back end, but did say the vet told her he would heal, but it would just take 6-8weeks to recuperate, and he needed to be contained in a small (crated) area for most of that time, and the family simply won't take the time to do that. I have attached some pictures and a 8 second video of him trying to walk. I am sorry that I don't have more info on JC, but he really needs a good foster or home! If you can take him to give him time to heal, he will get that chance at a good life. Please contact me. JC needs a place to go asap!! I'm in Montgomery, AL.
