If I may add to some items to the jerk level.
Did you buy the fireworks knowing that the area around where they were going to be set off was nothing but dry grass. (For reference - do a Google search on Wallow Fire or Rodeo-Chediski Fire)
Did you buy them with the intention of setting them off near the house knowing your city had passed a 'No Fireworks' law because of a drought.
Did you buy them with the intention of letting your young children (under 8) use them?

Somehow I doubt you hit the Jerk level.
Do you buy so many fireworks that starting July 2nd you start setting off the fireworks.
Do you buy so many the nightly fireworks last through the 5th, 6th even 8th?
Are you setting off fireworks from dark until after midnight EVERY NIGHT until the neighbors call the sheriff on you?
Jerk level is a high standard.
