They are not baked. They are fed raw. The patties are frozen. Since I am feeding both the boys these I do not even bother with patties. I just put a daily feeding amount in a bag and freeze it. Then pull it out as needed. Both boys are on a lot of supplements and I use this to get them to take them with no problems. If you would like a list of their supplements let me know and I can send it privately instead of cluttering up the list. Granted the supplements were issued for a boxer with cancer but except for a couple of them they would be great for an older dog. All the supplements except the Essiac tea, which you would not need, have been approved by 3 different vets. Two of those vets approved the Essiac Tea for the boys with tumors.
I am on occasion:) lazy so I have been known to mix some of the boys raw dog food items with the Satin balls. If you have a dog that does not need weight that will not work but to get keep weight on a dog it is awesome.
Please understand that I am not a person that thinks that raw food is the only way there is to feed our babes. I have never fed anything raw but raw chicken to our family until the first of this year. Dooley developed a lung fungus was what started it. Vet first said it was lung cancer then changed to the fungus. Dooley had lost a lot of weight. I went hunting alternatives to use along with modern medicine. In the last few months Dooley is off all of his meds except a .8 mg of thyroid daily and his antifungal. He still gets his supplements.
I know that in the "real" world I am suppose to be either for or against raw feeding with no in between. Well in my real world my babies are ill and I will try anything to keep them with me and healthy as long as possible. I do feed Taste of the Wild dry dog food and swear by it.
