RESCUED ANIMALS RETURN TO THE SEA Five Turtles and a Seal Rehabbed & Released The Marine Animal Rescue Program (MARP) had a busy weekend! Guinness the gray seal and five Kemp's ridley sea turtles, who had spent months being rehabilitated at the Aquarium, were deemed healthy and ready to return to the wild! Prior to release, MARP staff affixed satellite tracking devices to the seal and two of the turtles, which allows us to temporarily monitor the migration of reintroduced animals. You can follow them as well! » Watch a Video of Guinness' Release » Watch a Video of the Turtle Release » Track Guinness, Frosty, and Rudolph on Their Journeys | MONKEYING AROUND THE RAIN FOREST Rare Golden Lion Tamarins Now on Exhibit This spring, the Aquarium's Baltimore venue welcomed two golden lion tamarins, named Belle and Davi, to our collection of 16,500 animals. Only 2,000 of these small, orange monkeys are left in the world. This pair is part of the Golden Lion Tamarin Conservation Project, a species survival program. Belle and Davi are now at home in the Aquarium's Upland Tropical Rain Forest. They can be shy, so ask a volunteer or staff member to point them out when you visit! » Read More About Belle and Davi | UPDATE FROM THE DOLPHIN POOLS In the past week, we shared some sad news: despite our best efforts, our two dolphin calves passed away. This has been an extremely sad and difficult time for everyone at the Aquarium.
