The other day someone came to the door and the dogs began barking. When I came into the room, the boy, 6, was lying on the floor with his head and back arched and his front legs were moving frantically. I thought he was having a seizure and tried to comfort him. As I did, he quit breathing and died. The vet says it was probably a heart arrythmia that went undiagnosed.
The girl stayed by my side for a couple of days, but since the weekend has seemed to be totally fine with being an only dog.
So sad, the boy was really sweet and the gentle one of the two. He had bonded to me during the 11 days he was in our home.
