Grace, I'm so sorry for your loss of Jakob. I'm sure there will be a hole in your household for some time to come, but IMHO I think you did the right thing for him. The kindest thing is to let them go when there isn't hope for a way you can help them to heal. Try to remember all the good and fun things he brought to your life.
