I am so sorry to hear all of your problems. Our pets seem to always end up as the best friends that we have. That is why we love them so much. They love us when we are rich or poor, sick or healthy, even when we have PMS or are just in a bad mood.
You see all the time on the TV court shows cases about kids wanting to control their parents financial assets. Usually they are in court because they spend that money or borrow it and never pay it back. I am glad you have your pets. They are unconditional love.
As for raw feeding I cannot and will never feed raw. I have a couple of autoimmune diseases, Rheumatoid Arthritis for one. The meds I take lowers my resistance. They have a lot of evidence that the saliva of raw fed dogs can contain diseases like Salmonella.
The FDA and CDC recommend cooking your meats and eggs to certain temperatures. I will not eat eggs or meat that are undercooked. If I won't eat it because of the risks, I won't feed it to my dogs.
