Hi Donna,

You still have time to change it. It's will be so much better on you if she is Potty trained. When the snow was real high I walked Maggie Mae until she pooped. It's a pain but it's worth it.

I agree with you about the pads ,however sometimes you have to do what you have to and its hard. I use the pads and was taking her out and she did it out side. This past winter was hard and wet, it was a nightmare to take her out and I have a hubby who felt it wasnt a good idea. So we do both. I get what u are saying. Wish I had done it differently.

I could agree more with taking them outside and giving a treat. Anyone who uses a puppy pad is just making it twice as hard to train them to go outside later as an adult. I've even managed to train all of mine over the past 50 years to go without using a treat. The most important thing to remember is to start them off even as puppies in going outside only and about 20 minutes after they eat. It's the repeating of the pattern and the praise that does it. They love pleasing you and being praised for being good. These are smart dogs, they were breed to think on their own, so if you don't train them, they will train you!
