Subject: Trying to find help for a mini-dachsie in need

Under the advice of another rescue organization nearby, I am sending this email to multiple members of AHDRS to see if anyone can help with a personal need.
We own a mini-dachshund with a recent spinal disc injury which has left him unable to walk and basically incontinent. We've been taking him for daily acupuncture treatments, but even the vet is saying there is little chance that he'll ever improve. He's only 4yo with a great personality! We purchased Dusty from a reputable breeder when he was 8 weeks old, and he's been raised with another dog and young kids :-) We are really not in a position to take care of a wheelchair/special needs dog but really don't want to euthanize him :'-( Does you have any suggestions? I've saw one similar dog on petfinder.org that was rescued and is going to be a therapy dog. I am praying for a similar future for Dusty! Please help.
