Re: Potty training

Maggie Mae was one and a half years old before she was completly trained. She is now 100 percent house trained. I gave her treats when she did her business outside and let her know it was wrong when she did it inside. She figured it out that if she did it outside she got a treat. I also csrate trained her when she was a little puppy. She loves her crate.

I agree with you Jan....100%. Why make more work for yourself when they will be perfectly willing and able to go outside if you take them out and train them to do just that. You would not allow your human children to poop and pee on your floor, would you? Nor would you beat them for it, I hope. You just need to be consistent and firm, then praise. That is it in a nutshell. It will work, honest!
